Classroom Discourse Analysis of Computer-Mediated Communication during COVID-19

In March 2020, the Saudi government announced that school and university courses were to be held online control COVID-19 outbreak. A sudden yet smooth movement occurred from traditional face-to-face classrooms courses. This shift influenced nature of classes, interaction, participants’ roles. Interaction in classes is viewed as a form computer-mediated communication. paper explores communication at one major research universities Riyadh during pandemic. Using an in-depth qualitative analysis Walsh’s (2006) framework Self-Evaluation Teacher talk, this study examines classroom discourse interactions among level six students who took content course English lectures transcribed for study.
